First B Teacher/Volunteer Statement of Faith
First Baptist Church ask ALL teachers/volunteers to read and respond to the following Statement of Faith
The Bible - The true, inspired and sufficient Word of God
Trinity – One God, three persons
Jesus – Both fully God and fully man. Born of a virgin, died on a cross for our sins and rose again
on the third day and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God
Holy Spirit – The Holy Spirit is God and His purpose is to glorify Christ and indwell in us
Man – Created in the image of God - Male and Female with unique roles at creation and at birth
with equal dignity, value and worth - but given the choice, fell into sin and needs redemption
through Christ
Salvation – We are saved through Christ and Him alone when we recognize and repent of sin
Ordinances – Baptism and communion are ordinances but not a means of salvation
Marriage – An institution of God and is the coming together of one man and one woman for life
Second Coming – Christ will return and all will be made right
Church – The true church is all those that belong to Christ, brought together by the Spirit
